Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural household. Her birthplace was within South London. Her mother is English and her father Nigerian. She attended The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She performed in various stages during her high school days, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started acting in Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), with Colin Farrell. After that, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside as Ollie. She also landed the role of Bambi on the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the episodes two and three. Madekwe was a star in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. She has performed on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path written composed by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 with The drama The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before being ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge from February 2011. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the two previous seasons, would be leaving the show following a guest appearance in the premier episode of the season's new episode. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred in the role of Tituba the television series Salem. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They both appeared on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. The four brothers she had were present as well and included twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley's brothers were athletic and played baseball in summer as well as hockey in winter. Ashley did not walk; instead, she would dance. At age two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing after she started the Baby Ballet. Ashley was a dancer who competed in all the major divisions until she finished high school. She competed in ballet, jazz, tap as well as pointe and the acrobatics. She was the top soloist in important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
